The Area

The mountains in all their glory in summer in the Southern Alps!

Located between Briançon and Le Monêtier-les-Bains, in the heart of the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier Vallée is a must‑visit summer destination.

Serre Chevalier offers a preserved natural setting, with vast alpine landscapes, larch forests and high‑altitude panoramas. In summer, Serre Chevalier Vallée invites visitors to disconnect and enjoy outdoor activities.

Thanks to lifts open during the summer season, access to the summits is easy, making it possible to enjoy hiking, mountain biking and a wide range of family activities.

New for summer 2026: the Toboggan Trail

A route 1.5 km long with a 300-metre elevation gain

This summer, Serre Chevalier resort will introduce a new fun and immersive trail in Chantemerle: the Toboggan Trail!

Starting from the Grand Alpe picnic area, the trail will lead to Ratier, featuring an 80‑metre suspended footbridge, playful modules and an interactive scenography designed to discover local wildlife, flora and the surrounding area.An accessible and inspiring summer experience in the heart of the mountains.

Opening planned for early August 2026.

Park Come for the scenery, stay for the Ride!

A new course at the Serre Chevalier Bike Park

Last summer, the Bike Park added a brand new route, the Grand Serre Che, linking Briançon from the summit of Le Prorel to Le Monêtier via the various cols and returning via the valley, for a complete loop of the Serre Chevalier area!

A route accessible by mountain bike or electric mountain bike, for a day filled with beautiful scenery and adventure.

Thanks to the ski lifts scattered across the valley, you can easily access a vast playground waiting to be explored. Marked trails crisscross the entire Serre Chevalier area—perfect for discovering breathtaking landscapes.

In the heart of a postcard-worthy setting, all your senses come alive.
Look up: the mountain reveals itself in all its splendor, dotted with blooming rhododendrons. Wander along paths lined with larches, the only conifers in Europe that lose their needles in winter and turn golden in autumn. Take a deep breath—the gentle scent of evergreens fills the air. Keep your eyes peeled: you might spot some iconic mountain wildlife—marmots, deer, or black grouse.

Events & best practice

The shepherds on the Serre Chevalier estate perpetuate an ancestral tradition in the heart of the mountains.

Their presence gives rhythm to the mountain pasture seasons, between caring for the herds, managing the pastures and preserving the landscape.

Discreet but essential players, they contribute to the balance between nature and human activity, and embody a strong and authentic relationship with the land.

This summer, from mid-July to mid-August, you can meet the shepherds and enjoy an authentic mountain experience.

The applicable rate (start/end of season or season) is that on the 1st day of validity, whatever the duration.
All Ticket prices (excluding Insurance) are valid for the entire 2026 summer season and include all taxes at the current VAT rate, i.e. ten per cent (10%) of the price excluding taxes. (Art. 279b quater of the French General Tax Code).
Nevertheless, any increase in VAT above a rate of 10% of the price excluding taxes will automatically be reflected in the price including all taxes of orders sent from the date of the said change.
