There are a number of itineraries to choose from in the Serre Chevalier area

The use of snowshoes dates back to the dawn of time, when they were used as a means of transport. Recent decades have seen the revival of snowshoeing. The ancient accessory has given way to a modernized version. Now used for leisure activities, snowshoes open the doors to nature.

Let yourself be carried along by the rhythm of your steps, hear the snow crunch under your snowshoes and listen to the silence (yes, you can listen to silence; it's even an incredible sensory experience). Keep your eyes peeled for a whitetail, a chamois... or a chapel buried in the snow.

Le tarif Piéton / Raquettes est réservé aux personnes non munies de chaussures de ski, de skis ou d'engins de glisse spéciaux : uniquement chaussures de marche ou rando, raquettes et Snooc.

Un plan des parcours raquettes est mis à disposition en Point Info Vente, à l'Office du Tourisme et au Bureau des Guides de Serre Chevalier : n'hésitez pas à en faire la demande.

If there's one lift that's emblematic of the resort, it's the Serre Chevalier cable car! Indissociable from the history of skiing in Serre Chevalier, it has been an integral part of the valley's landscape for over 80 years. And, to the delight of our vacationing friends, it's open in winter and in summer too.

Focus on the history of the cable car from its earliest days

Although the project was first conceived in 1935, it wasn't until 1941 that the ropeway was inaugurated, in the midst of the Second World War. At the time, it was the longest in Europe, and consisted of two sections.

In 2013, the1st section was replaced by the Ratier gondola, but the structure of the historic station was retained. The2nd section is still in service.
While the Serre Ratier departure station had to be rebuilt following a fire in 1983, the arrival station at the summit is still in place.
It will be renovated in 2021, the year of its 80th anniversary: new roof, new interior and exterior cladding, repair of defective structural elements and other essential work.

Once at the top of the aerial tramway you have easy access to the orientation table just a few steps away, at an altitude of 2,491 m. Prepare to be impressed by the exceptional panorama of the Guisane valley, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Pelvoux and all the peaks of the Ecrins National Park.

The applicable rate (start/end of season or season) is that on the 1st day of validity, whatever the duration.
All Ticket prices (excluding Insurance) are valid for the entire 2025/2026 winter season and include all taxes at the current VAT rate, i.e. ten per cent (10%) of the price excluding taxes. (Art. 279b quater of the French General Tax Code).
Nevertheless, any increase in VAT above a rate of 10% of the price excluding taxes will automatically be reflected in the price including all taxes of orders sent from the date of the said change.
